What is a Standup Paddleboards or SUP?
A standup paddle board is a board that looks like a cross between a windsurfer board and a surfboard. The SUPs originated from surfing and appears to have developed as a sport in Hawaii. Stand up paddle boarders stand on boards that are floating on the water, and use a paddle to propel themselves through the water. The sport was documented in a 2013 report that identified it as the outdoor sporting activity with the most first-time participants in the United States that year. They’ve become extremely popular on large ponds and lakes, as well as a favorite close-to-the shoreline at the beach activity.
The only problem with a SUP board can be transportation. They are awkward, and can be heavy to carry and also to transport on your car. This is where the inflatable SUP boards come in. The latest ones are sturdy, inflate and deflate quickly.
